- Embark, transport and land elements of a landing force for expeditionary warfare missions.

- Support amphibious operations including landings via Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), conventional landing craft an helicopters onto hostile shores.
- Transport and launch amphibious craft and vehicles with crews and personnel in amphibious assault operations.
Frigates FFG
Bring an anti-air warfare capability to the frigate mission of Protection of Shipping as Anti-Submarine Warfare combatants for amphibious expeditionary forces, underway replenishment groups and merchant convoys.
Cruiser CG, CGN
- Guided missile cruisers perform primarily in a Battle Force role.

- Avenger class ships designed as mine hunter-killers capable of finding, classifying and destroying moored and bottom mines.
- Uses sonar and video systems, cable cutters and mine detonating device controlled by remote.

- Replenishes Navy forces and can carry more than 177,000 barrels of oil
- Receives petroleum products, ammunition and stores from shuttle ships and redistributes these items simultaneously to carrier battle group ships.
