Bill Berical

Bill Berical is the acting vice president of engineering for BAE Systems’ Electronic & Integrated Solutions operating group. He leads the group in identifying, developing, and delivering technology and capabilities solutions for a wide array of customer needs.

E&IS, with headquarters in Nashua, New Hampshire, is a major defense electronics business with 17,000 employees in 16 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, the United Kingdom, and Israel.

Prior to assuming this responsibility in May 2008, he was the vice president of engineering for the E&IS Platform Solutions line of business, based in Johnson City, NY. He led the design, development, and through-life support of Platform Solutions’ products across three diverse business areas. His team of 1,450 engineers in six sites provided a myriad of complex, highly reliable power system and flight-critical solutions to a diverse military and commercial customer base around the world.

A native of upstate New York, he attended Rutgers University, graduating in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation he joined GE Aircraft Engines in Lynn, Massachusetts, where he worked as a turbo machinery design engineer on several engine programs. In 1986 he transferred to GE Aircraft Control Systems Department in Johnson City, New York, as manager of product design engineering. Following acquisitions by Martin Marietta, Lockheed Martin, and BAE Systems he has assumed increasing responsibility with engineering.

Bill and his wife, Jane, have two adult children. In his spare time he enjoys hiking and camping in the Adirondack Mountains and traveling with his family.
