Erwin Bieber is president of the Network Systems line of business for BAE Systems’ Electronics & Integrated Solutions (E&IS) operating group. Network Systems employs 5,000 people at more than 10 U.S. sites, and has its headquarters in Reston, Virginia. The organization serves the U.S. intelligence, defense, and homeland security markets through communications and tactical networks; advanced information technology; and command, control, computing, and intelligence systems.

E&IS, with headquarters in Nashua, New Hampshire, is a major defense electronics business with 17,000 employees in 16 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, the United Kingdom, and Israel.

Bieber served previously as vice president of engineering for E&IS. Before that he was vice president of engineering for the BAE Systems’ Communication, Navigation, Identification, and Reconnaissance business unit in Wayne, New Jersey.

Bieber joined the Singer Company in 1985, which became part of BAE Systems through the acquisition of GEC-Marconi in 1997. Prior to that, he held engineering positions with Sperry Marine and the United States Navy. During his career, Bieber has served in a variety of engineering, business development, and program management positions.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Pratt Institute in 1981. Erwin and his wife, Jody, reside in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, with their two daughters, Sarah and Amanda.

The E&IS group designs, develops, and manufactures a wide range of electronic systems and subsystems for military and commercial applications. E&IS offers products and integration services, including electronic warfare and self-protection systems; surveillance and intelligence systems; platform systems; sensor and precision targeting systems; communication, navigation, identification, and reconnaissance systems; large-scale enterprise solutions and information management systems in support of the defense and intelligence communities; mission-specific software and geospatial exploitation products; advanced information technology; and rapid C4ISR prototyping, among others.
