Land Systems Delivering Programmes

Land Systems has a good track record in delivering complex defence programmes, to the right specification, on budget and on time.

TROJAN

TROJAN

Land Systems understands that defence procurement involves a very complex community of different user requirements and procurement organisations. More over, Land Systems understands the dynamic tension between the offering of value for money and the demand for very high capability.

Land Systems has an open, strategic collaborative approach to working with its customer, underpinned by product life cycle management within a shared data environment. Land Systems recognises the need to manage shared information securely across programmes and organisations. In addition, Land Systems has based its organisation structure to reflect the collaborative approach with the customer.

In the UK, Land Systems has embraced Smart Acquisition introduced by the UK MOD, seeing it as a beneficial move towards partnering with the customer. Earlier and better identification of requirements has meant that Land Systems can deliver more effective solutions, with better value for money.

Land Systems continually works hard to meet all the contractual milestones within the programme and the ongoing dialogue with the customer ensures there is a no-surprises culture. Land Systems continually develops and demonstrates effective schedule management including timescale risk analysis, three point estimating, capability demonstration and capacity and resource management planning for all major defence programmes.

TITAN & TROJAN

TITAN and TROJAN is the fastest UK development programme to parallel track the delivery of two types of Armoured Engineering capability for obstacle breaching and gap crossing. The partnering approach with the customer using a shared data environment and the involvement of the end user at all stages of the design and development has ensured this programme continuously meets key user requirements. This programme, with its progressive acceptance by the customer and its continuous tracking of performance has won the UK MOD procurement award for SMART Acquisition.

M777

M777 is a new lightweight 155mm calibre towed howitzer developed with the United States Department of Defense to meet the Marine Corps and Army needs for fire support to rapid reaction missions. The programme is in full rate production. A total of 589 systems will be delivered. Titanium fabrication technology has been developed and transferred to a US based supply chain developed to satisfy the requirement. A US facility in Mississippi has been created to integrate the howitzers and fire control systems.
