Land Systems Enabling Through Life Capability

The Integrated Logistics Support team at Land Systems takes a comprehensive view of the provision of end to end support. The company has made a significant investment in the development of supportability engineering capability. This capability has been applied successfully to a wide range of defence equipment programmes, enabling the delivery of supportable armoured fighting vehicles systems and cost effective logistic support solutions.

As a platform Prime and Design Authority, Land Systems has made strategic partnering agreements to ensure the platform is well maintained and is of optimum use through-life.

CRISP

In the UK, the Challenger 2 Innovative Spares Provision (CRISP) project has increased spares availability to above 95 per cent delivered from less than 75 per cent underlying availability and has reduced Defence Logistics Organisation (DLO) inventory levels by more than 50 per cent. CRISP also recently demonstrated its operational capability by successfully fulfilling demands for operational as well as peacetime requirements.

AS90 Equipment Support Agreement

The AS90 Equipment Support Agreement is the first incentivised platform support contract in the land sector. The partnering approach to delivery and the good working relationship between the Defence Logistics Organisation enables through life capability for the AS90 155mm self propelled gun in service with the British Army.

Strategic Partnering Agreement

The new strategic partnering agreement between BAE Systems (Prime Contractor and Design
Authority) and ABRO (providing the in-service fleet support) in the UK ensures the UK MOD benefits from an innovative and improved fleet support solution. This partnership reflects the new approach to equipment support of weapons and armoured vehicles in service with the British Army.
