The process of integrating complex systems utilises integration assets aimed specifically at mitigating the risks associated with subsystems interfaces and systems behaviour at the earliest opportunity within the product lifecycle.

Risk mitigation is key in large complex systems. Land Systems has developed crew station rigs, synthetic environments, and together with its equipment suppliers high fidelity emulators used within Systems Integration Laboratories for early integration and acceptance of the complex systems.

Land Systems implements a robust verification and validation process. This process is underpinned by significant experience of performing incremental design and verification through the use of a structured, review-driven methodology.

In developing the Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank, Land Systems was the first company to integrate 1553 aircraft standard databus technology into a land-based military platform. This visionary step has ensured capacity for ongoing and effective integration of enhanced technological solutions including second generation thermal imaging and battlefield management systems.
