Logistics & Information Systems (L&IS) is dedicated to providing information solutions that enable delivery of through-life support and availability based contracts utilising the latest information and knowledge management technologies available.
From locations across the UK we currently provide this capability, applying a structured Project Management approach, to a number of different customers supporting multiple platforms within Air, Land and Sea. These include Tornado, Harrier, Hawk, Nimrod, Sentry, F-35 Lightning II, AS90, Type 22 Frigates and Astute submarines to name but a few.
Our aim is to provide a common suite of information solutions across the Ministry of Defence and industry, accessible through a web based customer portal. This means that we’re always looking into the latest technologies available.
What we do
‘Develop and provide integrated information solutions that enable the effective delivery of support to the armed forces, enhancing their operational effectiveness’
By:
- Using a best practice method to identify the information needed to deliver through life support contracting.
- Developing and providing flexible low cost information solutions that deliver that information requirement to those that need it
- Providing the information system infrastructure, the support, connections and integration of the information solutions (hosting, IT support etc)
- Working with the Ministry of Defence and industry to encourage use of common or complimentary information and IT systems across the defence support chain
Delivering the decision making information you need, when you need it
Technology
We are looking for the smartest brains to join our team to work on technologies such as:
• Oracle (Database, Developer Tools, CASE Tools)
• IBM Websphere (Portal, WSAD, Application Server)
• IFS (ERP System for Supply Chain, Maintenance Management, Fleet Sustainment plus more)
• SAP (Customer Solutions and Support back office capability)
• EAI using a Service Oriented Architecture
• BPEL – Latest emerging Business Process Execution Layer
• JAVA
