BAE Systems Inc in North America is hosting an online Diversity Career Fair on Oct. 25 and 26, and is asking employees to encourage qualified candidates to participate. The event is focused on minority and female applicants but all are welcome. The event will be from 5 p.m. on the east coast to 8 p.m on the west coast. Candidates and employment staff will have the opportunity to "chat" online to discuss qualifications and explore possible career matches.
The event will cover more than 150 Engineering & IT job openings in 35+ locations across the U.S. and includes positions from most of the E&IS's lines of business, Technology Solutions & Services, BAE Systems-IT and the Minneapolis UDI Armament Systems Division. Candidates can pre-register or enter the chat sessions anytime during the hours of the event by clicking on the Online Diversity Career Event Web site .
"The online system operates similar to AOL instant messaging, and candidates can participate via the Internet from any computer," said Dave Hausmann, human resources specialist. "BAE Systems promotes diversity in its work force because it's the right thing to do - and it's good for our business," said Hausmann. "We believe that a work force that melds different backgrounds, styles, perspectives and beliefs is by its nature vibrant, creative and boundless."
