RG-31 Mine Protected Vehicle
BAE systems, the world's third largest defence company and the global number one in the land domain, has been established in India for over 60 years and has a long history of working with the Indian armed forces and Indian industry.
BAE Systems' commitment to India and real partnership is clear and has been proven. The company has partnered with HAL over many years on aircraft programmes such as Jaguar, Harrier and now Hawk.
A software and services Joint Venture with HAL, called BAeHAL, was established in 1993. More recent partnerships such as that established with Wipro in 2007 is part of the company's initiative to make India a core strategic area and BAE Systems has made no secret of its intentions to continue the strategy of partnering with the powerhouses of Indian industry in the future.
BAE Systems is serious about adding further to its already successful industrial partnerships in India. Real partnership means the development of long term successful businesses with Indian companies serving both the Indian and export markets. The open sharing of information, technology, skills and training is also essential to the development of a successful venture and a strong Indian defence industry.

BAE Systems took part in the 5th Defence and Naval Exhibition, Defexpo from 16th February 2008. Exhibits demonstrated BAE Systems' breadth and depth of capability across the land, naval and air domains. Highlights included the M777, the worlds lightest, helicopter deployable 155mm Howitzer, the Falcon all IP tactical communications system being developed for British Army, and on the Mahindra Defence stand, the RG-31 Mine Protected Vehicle that is being evaluated as the basis for an Indian Mine Protected vehicle to be jointly developed by BAE Systems and Mahindra Defence.
