BAE Systems today announced the Republic of China Ministry of National
Defence has awarded the company a contract valued at approximately
$29 million to design and manufacture a C-130H full flight simulator
and a C-130H multi-media flight training device for the Republic
of China Air Force (ROCAF).
The C-130H simulator and flight training device will be delivered
to Ping-Tung Air Base in Taiwan by the end of 2002. BAE Systems
Flight Simulation and Training will also provide on-site training
support services.
We are the worlds leading provider of C-130 simulation
and training solutions, and were pleased the Republic of China
Air Force recognised our expertise and experience in this area,
said John Pitts, president, BAE Systems Flight Simulation and Training.
ROCAF will get state-of-the-art training devices to train
their Hercules crews, and they will get these devices on-time and
on-budget.
The C-130H full flight simulator will include crew stations for
the pilot, co-pilot, flight engineer, and navigator. The simulator
will feature a five-channel, 200x40 degree vertical field-of-view
visual system. The C-130H flight training device will feature an
integrated multi-media presentation along with computer-based training
developed by BAE Systems. The two C-130H training devices will be
similar to the simulators BAE Systems uses in its C-130 Tampa Training
Centre, where the Republic of China Air Force has received its C-130
training for the past ten years
