BAE SYSTEMS appoints Chris Geoghegan to the Board of Directors

BAE Systems plc announces the appointment of Chris Geoghegan to its Board of Directors. Chris Geoghegan, 48, is a Chief Operating Officer of BAE Systems plc, London, with executive responsibility for the Company's International Partnerships, Avionics, Aerostructures, Aircraft Services, CorporateVentures and RO Defence businesses.

Chris, a native of Manchester, UK, has been with the company since 1976 in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility. From 1990 he was Managing Director of the division which became British Aerospace Airbus Limited, he became a member of the Airbus Executive Board in 1994, and in 1998 joined Airbus Industrie to assist in the transition of the Airbus GIE into a single company. In 2000, Chris was appointed Group Managing Director of the Avionics Group within the newly formed BAE Systems. In April 2002, he was appointed as one of the three Chief Operating Officers of BAE Systems. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and is also a Council Member of the SBAC (the Society of British Aerospace Companies)
