Farnborough, United Kingdom. - BAE Systems is drawing on its world leading position as an integrator of sensors and command and control (C2) to ‘protect’ the Company’s Farnborough static park display. Using the Spider flexible C2 system at its core, the static park display will be configured in a standard headquarters layout, with the Company’s Deployable Surveillance Unit (DSU) situated outside.
The demonstration integrates a wide range of sensors including Radar, EO/IR cameras and motion detectors. The DSU, displayed for the first time in the UK, will be operating as a stand alone C2 and sensor system connected to the main headquarters and will demonstrate airport perimeter protection. Sensors will include the Plextek Blighter radar, Pelco Esprit® camera, Senstar Steller (Perimitrax) intrusion detector, handheld PDA’s showing BAE Systems mapping capability and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phones. The fused picture is then relayed to the headquarters within the pavilion.
BAE Systems is focused on delivering complete capability solutions within the homeland security sector to meet its customers desire for highly reliable, time critical decision making systems to counter a range of activities including disputed borders, smuggling, economic migration, sabotage and threats that jeopardise national security.
