Chelmsford, United Kingdom. - BAE Systems has donated £200 to the Chelmsford Community Resource Centre League of Friends to help them fund a new minibus.
The League of Friends of Chelmsford Community Support Resource Centre, in Ravensbourne Drive, Chelmsford, was formed eighteen years ago. The support group for the resource centre was set up with funding from the families of centre users.
Monies raised are used to provide social opportunities for users of the centre, mainly adults with learning disabilities. Several years ago the Centre was able to obtain a minibus to provide much needed transport. The minibus, having done many years of sterling service, now is in need of replacement, to ensure the continued mobility of the users to participate in a number of social activities around the County.
Janine Cook, Registered Domiciliary Care Manager for Mid-Essex Social Services, said: “The members of the League of Friends wish to thank BAE Systems and its employees Charities Trust Fund for their continued support. This is especially important now as we are endeavouring to purchase a mini-bus following the withdrawal of local transport facilities.”
