Cowes, United Kingdom – BAE Systems employees have been collecting items to donate to the local RSPCA in time for Christmas. Employees on the Isle of Wight were asked to donate either animal food or suitable animal toys during the first week in December. In total, three boxes of goodies were delivered to the RSPCA in Cowes on Friday 8 December 2006, to ensure that pets at the local centres have a good Christmas.
Paula Sadler, Manager of Godshill Animal Shelter said: "We are delighted that BAE Systems staff thought of us at Christmas and grateful for the delivery of food and toys – they are very much needed."
The RSPCA is a registered charity that receives no lottery funding or state aid. Its £82 million annual running costs are funded exclusively by voluntary donations and legacies and they are responsible for four animal hospitals, three specialist wildlife centres, 15 animal centres and five clinics throughout England and Wales.
