BAE Systems took part in the race for life on Sunday 10 June 2006 in Guildford to support the national Cancer Research UK charity.
Ten women from BAE Systems Integrated System Technologies (Insyte) in Frimley took part in the race at 2pm running through Stoke Park. They all completed the race in approximately 45 minutes having jogged at a steady pace. In addition, employees in Frimley took part in a Freestyle Friday (dress-down day) and paid for the privilege – this raised over £300 which was matched by the Company, raising a total of £600.
Carole Buck, BAE Systems Exhibitions Advisor for Insyte said: “Despite blistering temperatures, and stiff competition from the first England game of the World Cup, we all had a great day and raised lots of sponsorship for Cancer Research! The monies are still coming in. The atmosphere was fantastic, with lots of happy supporters surrounding the course to cheer on the runners.”
BAE Systems Insyte at Frimley employs over 350 people. This business unit focuses on meeting the demands of the rapidly evolving market in defence, homeland security and complex, mission critical solutions. It delivers complete capability solutions within the electronic systems sector which range from high tech sensors to highly sophisticated command systems, capable of integrating complex information and making mission critical decisions.
