BAE SYSTEMS APPOINTS JOHN GATTI AS VICE PRESIDENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY

WASHINGTON - John Gatti has been named vice president of Homeland Security for BAE Systems, Inc.  In this role, he will lead the efforts to establish and profitably grow the company’s position in Homeland Security.  

“Providing solutions to national security problems to include emerging homeland security requirements is a key aspect of our business,” said Walt Havenstein, BAE Systems president and chief executive officer. “We are pleased to announce the appointment of John to this position and believe his leadership will enable us to leverage the full spectrum of our capabilities and market channels for future growth.”  

John joined BAE Systems as part of the recent acquisition of Armor Holdings, Inc., where he served as senior vice president and chief technology officer; he was responsible for leading the engineering and technology enterprise. John was also a member of the Armor Holdings executive committee where he was responsible for driving cross-company integration, technology strategy, R&D budgets and activities and evaluation of candidate companies for acquisition. 

Prior to joining Armor Holdings, John spent nearly 20 years at Raytheon Company, working in engineering, technology, manufacturing and program management. Most recently, he was the vice president of Engineering & Technology for Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company.
 
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Norwich University (Military College of Vermont) and a Master of Science in Systems Design and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
