Popular Jetstream 32 Continues to Play Key Role as Regional Airline Feeder

Herndon, Virginia, United States. - BAE Systems is constantly finding find new markets for its popular Jetstream 32 18/19-seat regional turboprop airliner and the aircraft continues to play a vital role in opening up new feeder services in different parts of the world.

In particular, new markets have opened up in Latin America and the Caribbean where in recent years Regional Aircraft has placed Jetstream 32s to some 10 operators in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Venezuela.

Transactions announced today for the first half of this year covers 19 aircraft with 10 customers. Of these, two are new operators who have joined the Jetstream family this year. These are:

Africair

– which purchased two Jetstream 32 (msns 932 and 939) in the first quarter for its Briko Air Services Ltd operation located at the Piarco International Airport in Trinidad, West Indies.

MACAIR

– based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which has contracted to purchase six Jetstream 32s (msns 861, 869, 928, 931, 941 and 942). Three aircraft have been delivered to date and the remaining three will be delivered by the end of the summer.

In addition, and underlying the customer satisfaction with the aircraft further transactions have been announced for existing operators. These are:

Aerolineas de Antioquia (ADA)

of Medellin, Colombia, which added two more aircraft (msn 893 and 900) to bring its total Jetstream 32 fleet to six aircraft. The airline uses its Jetstreams to provide regional services to centres such as Bogota, Cali and Rionegroe.

Proflight

of Venezuela, purchased its fourth Jetstream 32 (msn 934) and is currently customising the aircraft at its Miami, Florida, location.

Servicios Aereos Professionales (SAP),

based in the Dominican Republic, purchased its Jetstream 32 (msn 940) that it leased in January 2006. Configured with 19 seats, the aircraft is used on charter operations and contract work in the Caribbean, particularly for aircraft crew positioning.

Corporate Flight Management (CFM)

of Smryna, Tennessee, which purchased three more Jetstream 32s (msns 950, 952 and 954) for its on-demand charter business. Growing its Jetstream fleet to 12 aircraft, CFM is the largest Jetstream commercial fleet operator outside the airline environment offering a variety of corporate shuttle services.

Thomas Aircraft Sales

of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, purchased one Jetstream 32 (msn 929) in a brokerage agreement for a corporate client in Alberta.

Alberta Citylink

, has contracted to purchase its leased Jetstream 32 (msn 943).

International Air Parts (IAP)

of Australia, will purchase another Jetstream 32 (msn 989) by the end of June for its wholly-owned subsidiary Aeropelican Air Services Pty Ltd – Australia’s oldest regional carrier with 35 years of continuous operation.

Air National

of New Zealand has contracted to purchase its leased Jetstream 32 (msn 946) in June.
