JOHNSON CITY, New York — BAE Systems has named two business development managers to the company’s hybrid transit bus propulsion team. John Maddox and Floyd Diaz support sales growth of the company’s HybriDrive® propulsion system.
“Hybrid propulsion is one of the fastest-growing segments of the transit bus market, and we believe our system offers the best value to the transit customer,” said Hank McGlynn, vice president of Vehicle Systems for BAE Systems. “Adding seasoned professionals like John and Floyd is important to help us build product awareness, provide sales service to the industry, and develop customer loyalty.”
Maddox is based in Oceanside, California, and will support the western United States and Canada. He has more than 30 years of experience in business development in the transit industry and more than 10 years of experience with alternative fuels and hybrid electric propulsion technology. He has worked for leading bus manufacturers in North America and the United Kingdom in engineering, sales, and marketing, and was the initial general manager of NGV Ecotrans in Los Angeles.
Diaz is based in Durham, North Carolina, and will support the eastern United States and Canada. He comes to BAE Systems with 14 years of business development experience in the North American transit industry. He has worked in intelligent transportation systems for Digital Recorders and in advanced revenue management systems using smart cards for ERG Transit Systems.
BAE Systems’ HybriDrive propulsion system is available on the next-generation Orion VII bus built by DaimlerChrysler.
