MCLEAN, Virginia - BAE Systems has been awarded a five year contract by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide IT application development for the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). BAE Systems has been providing application development services to the BLS since 1992. The Blanket Purchase Agreement under General Services Administration schedule brings a potential value of more than $120 million.
Under this contract, BAE Systems will continue to provide development, sustainment and operation of highly sophisticated systems generating numerous Principal Federal Economic Indicators. More than 200 technical staff with capabilities in system architecture, software engineering, databases, business intelligence, and statistical applications are employed on the contract.
