21 Feb 2008

BAE Systems Preliminary Results for FY2007.

Commenting on the results, Chief Executive Mike Turner said:

“We have delivered another strong set of results in 2007, underpinned by the successful application of our global strategy.  Our large order book and consistently good programme execution gives us unprecedented future visibility.  This provides us with a high degree of confidence that we will continue to create value for our customers, shareholders and employees.

“We take great pride in the support we give to the armed forces and the preservation of international security.”

The key points of today’s announcement are:

• 2007 was another good year for BAE Systems.

• The company is a successful British based global business with six home markets (Australia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, the UK and the US) and an unparalleled breadth and balance of market position in the defence and aerospace sector.

• The company’s robust performance, a solid order book and successfully evolving global strategy enable good visibility for sustainable growth over the long-term.

• In the UK, BAE Systems is executing well and delivering value for its customers.

• Excellent progress continues to be made by BAE Systems in the US, both through organic growth and acquisition.

• BAE Systems is a major contributor to the economic stability and growth of UK plc.  The company spent £3.2 billion last year with UK suppliers.
