BAE Systems Australia is a key partner in the Over the Horizon Radar (OTHR) Centre of Excellence.
Working with RLM Management and Defence, BAE Systems supports the OTHR and Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) contracts. High Frequency (HF) radar systems provide a cost effective form of wide area surveillance for detection and tracking of surface and air targets.
The Jindalee OTHR system has been an operational asset of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) for more than 15 years. The systems encompasses a wide range of leading edge technology and is under constant development in conjunction with the RAAF and Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Division at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) in Edinburgh Parks, South Australia.
