CATS Combat Training Simulator

CATS-CTC simulator - CATS-CTC (Combat Training Center) trains armed forces. CATS-CTC caters for brigade size combat teams with One way (miles) or Two-way laser engagement simulators.

Exercises can be planned, prepared, performed and evaluated. Data is stored, analysed, and presented in EXCON. A take-home package of training completed is compiled for later study.

Exercise Control software (EXCON)

EXCON is a modular system based on Windows operating system. All incoming data from the training field is recorded for an After Action Review. Data is displayed on the Exercise Control computer’s 2D map and 3D viewer. The Tactical Radio function allows the system to record and replay radio traffic.

Mobility

EXCON can be delivered fully mobile installed in an expandable trailer. The trailer can be configured with both Exercise Control and After Action Review facilities.

AWES

Artillery fire, crucial for realistic and fair exercises is simulated for forward observers. Smart ammunition is simulated. Impact areas for artillery fire are broadcast to player units for effect simulation. Simulation of mines, are broadcast to player units for effect simulation, Close Air Support and obstacles. NC (Nuclear Chemical) is also simulated in Excon. Soldiers without protection will be contaminated.

Instrumentation

Vehicles and soldiers are equipped with Player Units linked to laser engagement systems and a central Comms Station. Player Units report positions and event activity from the field, and receive effect simulation  from EXCON.
