Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder

The advanced technology microwave sounder (ATMS) sensor measures water content at various altitudes of the atmosphere. The ATMS instrument will fly on the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System.

The design leverages the following technologies:

  • InP foundry process
  • Low noise amplifier monolithic microwave integrated circuits (nine unique designs)
  • K, Ka, W and V-band receiver modules
