The Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) instrument will fly on the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System. The ATMS sensor measures water content at various altitudes of the atmosphere.
The design leverages the following technologies:

- K, Ka, W and V-band receiver modules
