The Buckeye system was developed by the U.S. Army Topographic Engineering Center (TEC) for a field-expedient change detection system used to aid in the detection of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
BAE Systems is currently under contract with the TEC to produce Buckeye-derived color digital orthophotos to support IED detection and other military operations. BAE Systems is leading a team of highly qualified individuals, utilizing the company’s SOCET SET™ software to perform image dodging and balancing, softcopy aerotriangulation, elevation data processing, and orthophoto production.
