JTIDS Class 2H terminal

JTIDS Class 2H terminal

The Class 2H terminal offers full interoperability with all other JTIDS terminals, and adds capability for 1000 watts of RF output power. The core class 2H terminal consists of three LRUs: the receiver/transmitter (R/T), the data processor group (DPG), and the high power amplifier group (HPAG).

The R/T operates in the 960 to 1215 MHz band, provides the time division multiple access (TDMA) signal transmission and reception, and performs all TACAN signal processing. Since JTIDS shares operation in the TACAN / identification friend or foe (IFF) frequency band, the terminal is equipped with extensive interference protection features that effectively monitor radio frequency emission and prevent interference to those systems in the event of out-of-specification JTIDS equipment condition.

JTIDS Class 2H Terminal Features:

  • Secure, jam-resistant connectivity
  • High throughput
  • Distributed network control
  • Service and NATO interoperability
  • Omnidirectional
  • Long-range coverage
  • Dual-mode identification
  • Full-performance TACAN
  • Accurate position data

JTIDS Class 2H Terminal Applications:

  • U.S. E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS)
  • UK and French AWACS
  • U.S. E-2C Hawkeye Airborne Early Warning and Control Center
  • U.S. Navy major combatant ships, to include CV/CB/DDG classes
  • U.S. Marine Corps Tactical Air Operations Module (TAOM)
