AN/VRC-99A
Widely dispersed forces can now exchange real-time data, voice and video with the AN/VRC-99x, a secure, wideband, programmable, extended-range, open-architecture communications system.
Since the AN/VRC-99C requires no fixed infrastructure, forces are more flexible, more mobile, and less vulnerable to enemy interruption.
Description
The AN/VRC-99x terminal, which can be configured for ground, shipboard, and airborne platforms, provides virtual circuit and datagram service, which guarantees reliable, simultaneous, multi-channel voice, data, imagery, and video transmission.
Digital signal processing provides flexibility and operational simplicity in end-to-end communication connectivity, packet-formatting, and packet-switching protocols. Spread-spectrum modulation, embedded encryption, and support for transmit power control capability provide security and integrity for today’s strategic and tactical networks. The basic system provides coverage from 1300 to 2000 MHz.
Application
The AN/VRC-99x can provide wireless local-area network service for line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight data links. Adaptive routing provides network survivability in the most challenging dynamic mobile applications, as required by the Warfighter Information Network Architecture and the Tactical Internet .
