Avionics support equipment

Avionics support equipment (ASE) is a system of commercial, off-the-shelf instrumentation and interface hardware integrated within an architecture and driven by a commercial test executive and ATLAS software development environment. The systems provide intermediate-level (line-replaceable unit) support for electronics on the F-2 aircraft.

The F-2 ASE systems are the result of a cooperative, requirements-driven process between the customer and BAE Systems to define the needed test capability for selected line-replaceable units. The system design uses a core set of instrumentation, manufactured by a third party, with an enhanced set of augmentation equipment to provide the capabilities required for testing the assigned line-replaceable units. The test system uses the TYX PAWS runtime system and ATLAS-based development environment.

OTHER FACTORY-LEVEL SYSTEMS

  • Common automatic special test equipment
  • Missile check-out console
