Mine Protected Armoured Personnel Carrier
The Casspir Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) is the international benchmark for mine protection and offers high mobility, easy handling and crew comfort. Several hundred Casspirs are in service with the South African Army and various other users internationally.
The use of tried and tested drive line units ensures ease of maintenance, high availability and cost effective operational employment. The vehicle design not only protects the crew against triple tank mines under any wheel, or double under the hull, but also facilitates rapid field repair after a mine detonation.
Ballistic protection up to 5.56 x 45mm as well as 7.62 x 51mm NATO ball ammunition is provided with optional protection against 7.62 x 51mm AP. The glass is bullet resistant to the same degree as the hull.
