Static fatigue test facility
The Structural Testing Facility is responsible for the acquisition of data to provide evidence for the qualification of aircraft structures when subjected to operational environments.
Testing is predominantly focussed at the BAE SYSTEMS Brough based facility, although operational aircraft calibrations and noise & vibration testing are performed by support teams at Warton.
The Brough facility is a modern, purpose designed complex comprising two large test halls, development laboratories and supporting infrastructure.
The Warton facility comprises a single test hall and noise & vibration test laboratories. S&DT are engaged in test programmes for all current Air Systems military aircraft as well as providing support to legacy life extension programmes.
The team is committed to maintaining its leading position in the field of capability development, supported through the relationship it maintains with its many Partners.
Specialist test activities:
• Fatigue testing.
• Static testing.
• Acoustic testing.
• Aircraft calibration.
• Vibration & Impact Test
