BAE Systems Australia's Muzzle Velocity System (MVS-470) is a tactical, doppler radar system designed to accurately measure the velocity of all known types of land and naval artillery projectiles and mortar bombs.
A rugged, compact and lightweight unit, the MVS-470 reliably provides accurate velocity data to an operator or automatically to a fire control computer milliseconds after the projectile exits the muzzle. Data made available by the MVS-470 is essential for achieving a first round, on target capability.
