BAE Systems has developed and integrated into combat systems many key automation and robotic technologies necessary for the autonomous operations desired of future systems.
These technologies have been focused in three areas: vehicle control/driving, automated ammunition handling, and automated system diagnostics and prognostics. BAE Systems has developed and tested remotely operated, drive-by-wire systems for many years. Tomorrow's advanced vehicle systems require sophisticated diagnostic and prognostic systems to assist the crew in rapid identification and resolution of maintenance problems. These operator tools are in development at BAE Systems today.
