BAE Systems is providing Marine Corps Transparent Armor Gun Shields (MCTAGS) kits and spares to support U.S. Marine Corps vehicles. The kits will be installed on Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) units, High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) and Logistics Vehicle Systems (LVSs) under a recent USMC contract award.
The MCTAGS kits further enhance survivability for Marines by providing a gunner's protection system that enables direct vision, situational awareness and target acquisition while providing enhanced protection from small arms fire and IED fragments.
BAE Systems Transparent Armor Gun Shields (TAGS) units are configurable for a wide range of vehicles and applications, including the Bradley Armored Commander's Shield, M1 Abrams, M113, HMMWV, and Transparent Armor for the Stryker Common Ballistic Shield. TAGS is particularly effective in close-combat urban environments.
