105mm Light Gun
The family of 105mm Ammunition has been optimised for use with the L118 weapon system.
It comprises a high tensile steel body filled with ROWANEX 1100 (PBX). The shell body has been optimised for high fragmentation and blast effect. For 105mm HEIM ER, an optimised base bleed unit is used which enables the shell to achieve a range of over 20km when fired using Charge Super at 710 mils.
The 105mm Red Phosphorus Smoke round carries 4 Red Phosphorous Smoke canisters and is optimised for low environmental impact but high obscuration in both the visible and infrared spectrums.
