Mk 45 Naval Gun Overhaul and Upgrade

The Mk 45 Naval Gun is the lightest, most compact 5-inch (127-mm) fully automatic naval gun in the world. Designed, produced, and supported by BAE Systems, it is also the most widely deployed 5-inch naval gun, with 245 applications in the U.S. Navy and 9 international fleets.

As an original equipment manufacturer of the Mk 45, BAE Systems works in conjunction with the certified U.S. Government in-service engineering agent to repair, overhaul, and upgrade Mk 45 systems for the U.S. Navy and international fleets.

Depot Overhaul - BAE Systems in Louisville, Kentucky, is the U.S. Navy depot-level overhaul point for Mk 45, and the 'Center of Excellence' for component and spares fabrication, as well as final system assembly and test of new and modernized systems.

Performance Options - BAE Systems offers a range of flexible approaches to Mk 45 modernization with the ability to refurbish guns to "as new" condition for Mods 0-2 configurations, or to fully upgrade existing guns to the Mod 4 configuration.

Support Network - Mk 45 support services are available nationwide at our fleet support facilities in Norfolk, Virginia; Mayport, Florida; San Diego, California. BAE Systems Fleet Support specialists also provide Mk 45 support onboard ships located anywhere in the world. Full life-cycle support is supplemented by the worldwide logistics system supporting the U.S. Navy.
