Infrared Signature Modelling and Measurement

Infrared signature prediction and anlysis. Aimed mainly at defence applications, the ATC has developed a comprehensive capability to model and analyse the infrared, thermal signatures of objects such as aircraft and rockets. These skills combine software modelling with analysis and measurements of actual objects and materials using infrared imaging systems.

Infrared signature prediction and analysis is essential for stealth design and assessment of the vulnerability of a target to threat sensors. The ATC has developed the SIRUS infrared prediction code which can calculate reflected and emitted Infrared radiation from both an aircraft's skin and it's jet engine plume emissions.
